The first-year Photography students have finished their exploration of natural forms. Nearly two-thousand years ago, the Roman poet Lucretius wrote On the Nature of Things to explain the Epicurean worldview that natural phenomena accounts for existence, and the highest good is to have an unfettered mind receptive to a pleasant life. Our up close study of these natural forms is only the latest in a long thread of attempts to convey the pleasure of observing simple things.
